Yakiv Ads is a marketing service founded by the Marketing Link team and Mykola (Nick) Lukashuk, based in the Tampa area, FL, USA. As an advertising agency, we understand the bottlenecks in ad campaigns, so in 2022, we began automating our internal tasks. By 2024, we expanded our automation tool to serve both the US and global markets.

Nick Lukashuk
Founder & CEO
Nick is the driving force behind the Yakiv Ads Automation tool. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a PhD in Design. Nick has been involved in Digital Marketing since 2014 and, since 2016, he runs as the owner and CEO of Marketing Link. When he's not working, he enjoys home automation, traveling, and driving.

Lead Developer
Yuriy is our lead backend developer with over 10 years of experience in API integration and web development. He keeps up-to-date with all API updates and consistently implements new features. Besides web-development, Yuriy also teaches and shares his knowledge with students.

Why is Yakiv?
The first use of automation in 2012
Before founding Marketing Link, Nick worked in the SEO industry, where he first applied automation:
- In his free time, Nick developed automation software using C++ Builder, which helped automate routine SEO tasks. This allowed him to relax, drink tea, and watch as the mouse moved across the screen, performing tasks.
- Later, Nick created another automation tool using C# in Visual Studio. This version interacted with DOM components through a C# Web Browser Control, enabling the automation to run in the background. This meant Nick could not only drink tea but also use his laptop for other things while the tasks were being completed automatically.
What changed in 2016?
In 2016, when Nick began his entrepreneurial journey and introduced Google Ads services, automation naturally became essential:
- Automated keyword research for Google Ads using Google Spreadsheets formulas, allowing users to input a list of keywords and generate extended variations.
- Automated ad creation in SKAG (Single Keyword Ad Groups) for Google Ads, also using Google Spreadsheets formulas to extend keyword variations.
- Google Tag Manager container templates for easy import into popular CMS platforms.
- Automated creation of Google Analytics Universal Goals using macros.
- Importing views and selecting goals for easier Google Analytics Universal Goals setup.
- Automation using Google Ads Rules.
- Automation using Google Ads Scripts.
Macros automation still had required to be left laptop for 10-15 min for automation, so when Nick go to reload his coffee—laptop continue worked, and employee calls it like Yakiv.
Is it true that Yakiv is like a digital James?
Yakiv is a Ukrainian masculine name of Hebrew origin, similar to Jacob or James. At Marketing Link, the name “Yakiv” was chosen to represent a smart automation tool that takes over when Nick is unavailable, like a “supplanter”. Originally Nick is from Ukraine, since Oct 2024 Nick and Marketing Link HQ moved to the United States of America.
So, naturally, when Marketing Link advanced to the next level of marketing automation—moving from Google Ads Rules, Google Ads Scripts, and numerous Google Spreadsheets to full automation using the Google Ads API—the name “Yakiv” found its place here as well.
